Hiring professionals to paint or renovate your home is a smart move, but a little prep work on your end can make a big difference. Here’s a simple guide to help you get ready before the Golden Wave team arrives, ensuring everything goes smoothly from start to finish.

1. Clear the Space

Before we show up with brushes, tools, or ladders, remove as much furniture and decor as you can from the work area. This includes:

• Wall art and mirrors
• Small furniture and area rugs
• Lamps and breakables

If larger pieces can’t be moved, we’ll carefully cover them. However, clearing the space saves time and protects your belongings.

2. Secure Valuables and Pets

We love pets—but job sites can be dangerous for them. Keep dogs, cats, and curious critters in a separate area of the home during the job. Also, store away any valuables, jewelry, or fragile items to avoid accidents.

3. Prep Your Walls

If we’re painting, make sure walls are clean and free of dust or grease. We’ll handle surface prep like patching and sanding, but a quick wipe-down helps the paint stick better. Remove nails or screws if you don’t plan on rehanging items in the same place.

4. Make a Clear Path

Clear any hallways, entryways, or outdoor areas we’ll need to access. This includes removing:

• Potted plants or patio furniture
• Toys, shoes, or other obstacles
• Cars from the driveway (if we’re working outside)

The easier it is for us to move in and out, the faster the job gets done.

5. Communicate Your Expectations

Whether it’s a specific paint color, a tight deadline, or a concern about a certain area—let us know upfront. We’re professionals, but we’re not mind readers. Clear communication leads to better results and fewer surprises.

6. Plan for Some Disruption

Depending on the size of the job, certain areas may be off-limits for a day or two. If we’re working in the kitchen or bathroom, plan ahead with meals or toiletries. We’ll work around your schedule as best we can—but flexibility helps.
